I am a Ph.D. student at UC-Santa Cruz in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and am working with Paul Koch, Marc Mangel, Nate Dominy, and Jim Estes. My PhD work involves 1) using stable isotopes to construct and analyze probabilistic food-webs of both modern and Pleistocene ecosystems, 2) using generalized modeling and other techniques from nonlinear dynamics to investigate the roles of specific processes that drive population dynamics, and 3) building models that utilize stochastic dynamics to explore the primary forces that constrain foraging dynamics in mammalian (specifically anthropoid) systems. I'll be moving to Vancouver in July to work with Jon Moore as a post-doctoral researcher on NW salmonid systems.
